Eno-tourism is a niche tourism segment whereby wine lovers are given the opportunity to visit wineries, vineyards, taste wines and even purchase wine directly from the source. This also provides visitors with an understanding of the different processes involved in wine production giving an insight into the various aspects of wine making according to the region where it is being produced.
At Ta’ Mena Winery, a typical wine tour starts with an introduction on our family run business, history and traditions. This is followed by a tour of our winery and production facility including explanations on wine making, olive pressing, and the production of other traditional artisanal foods. Visitors will be given the opportunity to taste the different wines produced in our boutique winery, as well as purchase them from our onsite retail outlet.
The wine tasting sessions are accompanied by an exceptional Gozitan Platter including some of our typical food items such as sweet sundried tomato paste, olives, Gozo peppered cheeselets, local smoked sausages and other local delicacies depending on seasonality.

At Ta’ Mena Estate you are being immersed in the typical Gozitan country-side, surrounded by the natural and calm environment with breathtaking views. The estate is situated in the picturesque Marsalforn Valley between Victoria and Marsalforn Bay. The estate includes a fruit garden, an olive grove with about 1,500 olive trees, an orange grove, and over ten hectares of vineyards. It enjoys the panoramic views of the Gozo Citadel and the surrounding hills and villages.
It is situated less than 3 kilometers from the blue Mediterranean Sea within easy reach of the fishing village of Marsalforn and the world famous Ramla Bay with its sandy beach, overlooked by the legendary cave of the Nymph Calypso. The estate is an excellent point of departure for interesting sightseeing tours of the extensive heritage found in Gozo. This includes the Neolithic Ggantija Temples which are the oldest free standing buildings in the world dating back over 5,000 years; the Citadel with its outstanding bastions, the Archeology Museum and the Cathedral, the geological park of Dwejra and all the exceptional churches, various museums and other places of interest in the different villages of the island.
At Ta’ Mena Estate we cultivate vines, olives, lemons, oranges, various fruit trees, strawberries, tomatoes, melons, water melons and other vegetables. We produce our own wine in a state-of-the -art winery, press our olives to produce a unique cold pressed extra virgin olive oil which is very low in acidity. We also produce various typical liqueurs and foods from our different fruits, vegetables and herbs. Our Kunserva Helwa (Sweet tomato paste matured in the sun) is a must to try!
